Creationism or evolutionism?
A very controversial subject, Europe and America diverge as well!
In Europe, the evolutionism is the politically correct thinking; it is only for some “fanatics” to disagree!
In America, the subject is growing and opinions on all sides are progressively and scientifically in opposition.
Open to your thoughts…..!
Hi Chris,
Good reply, and no, science cannot answer all questions, simply because science needs an answer prior to proving the validity of a theory. So, science is only a limited science if I dare say. Said differently, science is the wrong tool, and that is to me a reason for many of today's errings.
Kind regards ;-)
Hello
Glad to see this subject has been presented. There is a perspective that might be new to many. Here it is:
"...in the Image of God" Does this not mean spiritually? Because God is a Spirit. Thus, the" likeness" cannot be seen not in the past and not now but in the future. when man has developed his spiritual perfections. Our past has been filled with wars and more wars and uncertainties of all sorts, and filled us with fears and very few periods of rest and peace. The platform for the spirit to be developed have been very few and still is in many parts of the world. There is the opression of women and children. In a future however, and in a world when man has understood how to treat his neighbors, and all races of man with a loving appreciating heart, looking for unity in diversity, - where man and woman are equal! -, all children are schooled, girls and boys, and...many other things are realized and the earth is a peaceful and loved place for all. And when we have learned to love God the way He wants us to love Himso that His love can reach us.. During that Age of the Maturing of mankind we will become "in the Image of God."
Concerning the creation of existence here is also another perspective, more suitable to man of today.
"Existence came into being through the heat generated from the interaction between the active force and that which is its recipient." Bahaullah (1817 - 1892)
How about that?
Greetings from
Laila
The old belief that "... in the image of God" means we were created directly in the physical appearance we have now, is in my opinion to believe in miracles. I will just ask:. Are these kind of performances indispensable
for us/for God, to be able to recognize the Almighty powers of God. Jesus said to the pupils not to mention His miracles.
So in the image of God lies in the future, "likeness is nearness" (Bahai scriptures). This interpretation doesn't violate our intellect.
Concerning the origine of man, the same Bahai scriptures says that man has always been potentially man. Only he he did not look the same as today. ..."from the beginning of man's existence he is a distinct species. In the same way, the embryo of man in the womb of the mother was at first in a strange form; then this body passes from shape to shape, from state to state, from form to form, until it appears in utmost beauty and perfection."
