The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is the biggest, most expensive, and most powerful machine ever built before by CERN (Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire). All European Union member countries are involved. It is located near Geneva at the France-Switzerland border, 300 feet underground the surface. The machine is 16.6 miles long and it costs €6.0 billion to create. Total 9000 leading scientists are working on the project and 1260 of them are Americans. It will be switched on September 10th, 2008 and this nuclear machine, the atom-smasher, will become a virtual time machine, revealing what happened when the universe came into existence 14 billion years ago.

What is this machine?

The LHD is a particle accelerator, a high speed atomic smasher.

\How does it work?

A bang will be created in the experiment by letting atomic particles be fired in opposite directions along this 17-mile long underground ring close to light velocity. This means that the smash will be a big bang. From the collisions the scientists and the boffins expect to discover a fundamental bit of the atom, the particle “X” also called the Higgs boson, that is expected to exist but which has never been seen.

What is the purpose of this experiment?

This experiment will be almost identical to what happened 14.0 billion years ago. As scientists re-create same conditions, in the first billionth of a second after this small big bang new particles of matter are expected to be discovered and new dimensions found beyond the four known. It will be switched on September 10th, 2008 and this nuclear machine, the atom-smasher, will become a virtual time machine, revealing what happened when the universe came into existence 14 billion years ago.

How dangerous is it?

According to CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) there is no risk at all. All calculations are pointing to a peaceful experiment without any consequences on the environment or the nature.

My comments!

Generally we use only 4% of our brain. For the last 3.000 years of written history we don’t know why we can’t use more of our white substance. Same thing about our knowledge on universe. We can see about 4% of the universe and understand it, there are wild theories about the 24% of dark matter where the scientist just imagine what may be happening and they have total darkness and ashes on their eyes for the rest of 72 % unknown dark matter for which they haven’t a clue of what it is, for not tell what was happening before the Big Bang 14.000 years ago.

Now there are organizations for and against test.

The Citizens Against The Large Hadron Collider is a non-profit organization established for the purpose of using legal action to prevent the operation of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) until further safety tests are conducted.

It is not possible to know what the outcome of the experiment will be. There is scientific concede that there is a real possibility of creating destructive theoretical anomalies such as million miniature tiny black holes, strangelets and deSitter space transitions. These events have the potential to fundamentally alter matter and destroy our planet.

Known experts and scientist fear that the risk of operating the LHC disproportionately outweighs anything science might gain from this experiment. They try to stop the most powerful experiment ever, saying the black holes it will create could destroy the world.

Experts even predict that millions of tiny black holes will be produced. Those baby brothers of the monsters gobbling up dust and stars at the heart of the galaxies.

If my voice could be heard I would accuse those boffin scientists of playing God, and warn them that no one can guarantee that the black holes will not survive, rapidly growing in size to suck the Earth out of existence in an instant.

Professor Otto Rossler, from the Eberhard Karls University of Tubingen in Germany, is one of the scientists mounting the legal challenge at the European Court of Human Rights against 20 countries which are funding the project.

A CERN spokesman said: "It will not be producing anything that does not already happen routinely in nature."

Known scientist said: "It is quite plausible that these little black holes will survive and will grow and eat the planet from the inside out."

Hmmm! I am skeptic! Soon we will fear to go out of our houses for not felling in a miniature black hole while others will enjoy having a permanent holiday if miniature black holes start to appear and cause planet-wide disruption.

Kindly Regard,

Georgios

Hello Alixandra!

Thank you for this video clip. I can see it but there is no sound (maybe something wrong in my PC).

There is also lots of other interesting information and interviews.

Happy and peaceful Sunday

So we have a choice here to control the experiment and do it at a much smaller scale than what it would have taken to create the Universe or Planet Earth. Or we can take the conservative attitude that always exists - don't do it because there is risk. Risk is responisble for progress and improvement. Progress threatens the status quo. Autos threatened the folks in the horse trade. Oil threatened the family farmer and small toen isolationism. Science threatens Religion. We like living with our myths.

Hello Deborah!

Very good examples. Thank you! In Greece we say every yesterday and a better day!

The last 300 years the changes were so fast and the promisses so big that we would'n need to work. They are not more clever than us but the always have the media to convince the masses.
A cosmotheory easily turnes to a new religion. Everytime something new and big was invented there was also a dual -ism invented. Capitalism-Communism relation, etc.

Independent from what happens on Wednesday, there many new are things to happen. They are just preparing us to something they believe is great. I resist because somewhere this must stop. People from different paths meet and exchange knowledge, feelings. More and more people understand what is happeing in the arena. More and more people have the filters to gather the truth. And truth is one and eternal.

Kindly regards,
Georgios

It appears to me that there are thoughtful people on both sides of this issue and that it reminds me of the arguments for and against global warming. So all I can do is give my opinion on this ultimate experiment.
First let me remind people that almost as soon as the scientists from Germany and the USA discovered nuclear weapons and perfected the delivery, etc.; they regreted having done so because they knew that it was more destructive than anything that had ever existed before. After they dropped the bombs on Japan they saw the immediate result but we are still seeing DNA and genetic problems resulting from this inhuman destruction.

Now what few people are talking about here is the fact that we still do not realy know what "black matter" is. Black matter has to do with black holes. So what is a black hole? All a black hole is, is a loss of time. Time is an artificial measurement of past, present, and future - all of which are illusionary according to quantum physics.
The Hadron Collider is going to try and reproduce a mini big bang which was theoretically the start of the Universe or at least the start of planet Earth. So we have a few things to consider.

1. We have ? idea of what matter, etc. was present in the Universe at the beginning of time. How does that compare to today?
2. We are assuming that there was no control over the original Big Bang.
What if it was controlled? Who controlled it and are they still there?
3. The Hadron is an extension of lesser experiments that have been used for years to produce the isotopes used in Pet Scans in hospitals worldwide.
4. I think the Hadron will provide answers to the unification of the forces of nature. As humans we are part magnetic, electrical, water, mineral, & the part we like to argue - spirit, mental, emotional, ?.

Good news...........u need to know ...... there is no big bang......
these therories have fallen down now....after the Quantum theories
even in the dark holes , a New star even brighter from the old have the consciousness to take that position in the black hole.....

it is a bad propaganda in order to fear people and when we are in fear we cannot use LOVE, which is the ONLY frequency that HIGHTENS
the energetic field , right away......

Hello Kallisto,

Welcome in to the LHC discussion. A discussion with aguments for and a gainst is always what we need in discussion and a dialoge.

There are theories saying there was no big bang and that there aren't any black holes. Very few scientist support those theories
But still we are talking about theories.

It is true, but do you think they just trow away 6.0 billion euros just for joke after 20 years work. More than 9.000 scientists work on a case that leads to a dead end. I believe they know what they are searching for and they play their cards ands assets independent of waht the the true result will be. They will announce either that they failed or that they stopped the the experiment and that will be a lie. Next experiment is a $30.0 billion experiment for next comming two years.

There are only three days left. I am laughing ironically to this experiment. While the physicists are preparing their experiment the environmental scientists incist that we will have an 8-9 richter eathquake in the Anatolia breadge in next two years.

I fear the worse. Something strange will happen. We are talking about energy and "daak" matter. In a serial of mathematical equations they use an "x" for unknown particles and elements.

This will be some butter on a leaf of bread for the NEW AGERS.

Kindly regards,
Georgios

Hello Deborah!

Thank you for coming in. I agree with your opinion and everything you tell us is you say is the truth. Very seldom useful inventions are is used for peaceful purspose. In this case thet will go a step forward and a level higher. What they are after is to slove the mystery of life at its initial stadium.

120 tons of fluid hellium will be used in this experiment. Making a mistake the whole globe would be sent to the outer space.

That can be very dangerous if coming in wrong hands. Many times I think of waht happend and Neadertal and Cro-Magnon disappeared. Especially to Cro-Magnon who had a bigger brain volumme than homo sapiens.

Have a great Sunday

True enough. But is it stopping from them making tests on beautiful islands far away...but so near. Amicalement. Cath

Islands in Oceania disappeared after nuclear tests. This experiment is huge in relation to nuclear bomb tests.
